Content Removal & Appeals Policy
Effective August 2026
Anyone who appears in content on Dusk keeps control over that content. This policy explains how a person depicted in any content on Dusk can ask for it to be removed, what happens next, and how disagreements are resolved.
1. Your right to removal
If you are depicted in content on Dusk, you may request its removal at any time. If our investigation determines that your consent was not given, has been withdrawn, or is void under applicable law, the content will be removed. Removed material is hash-blocked so it cannot be re-uploaded.
2. How to request removal
Verified participants can withdraw consent directly in the app (the Consents screen) — withdrawal removes the affected content from publication automatically and immediately, with no email and no queue. Anyone, including people without an account, can request removal through the report form or by emailing safety@dusk.show with a link or description of the content.
3. Timeline
Removal requests follow our Complaints Policy timeline: acknowledged within 2 business days and resolved within 7 business days. Reports of non-consensual intimate imagery hide the content immediately upon receipt and are resolved within 48 hours.
4. Appeals and neutral resolution
If you disagree with the outcome of a removal request or appeal, tell us and your case will be re-reviewed by someone not involved in the original decision. Should there be a disagreement regarding an appeal, we will allow the disagreement to be resolved by a neutral body, at our expense. Nothing on Dusk limits this right.
5. What we keep
When content is removed, statutory records (age, identity, and consent documentation under 18 U.S.C. § 2257, and preservation obligations that apply to reports of illegal material) are retained as the law requires, even though the content itself is no longer published.
